When to Check the Tire Pressure on Your Mercedes-Benz

Green Valley drivers should check their tire pressure every month or so, especially when the weather is cold. Drivers can view tire pressure levels on the Mercedes-Benz Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). Keeping up with this Mercedes-Benz tire pressure warning system will help drivers maintain an optimal tire pressure level.

How To Use the Mercedes-Benz Tire Pressure Monitoring System

One of the many features your Mercedes-Benz comes with to ensure your Boulder City drives are safe and secure is a tire pressure monitoring system. TPMS can help you keep track of your tire psi so you can ensure your tire pressure is always correct. The steps to check your tire psi can vary depending on your specific model but here are the general steps:

  1. On your steering wheel, press the left or right arrow buttons until you get to the "Service" menu.
  2. Now press the up or down arrow buttons until you get to the "Tire Pressure" option.
  3. Press "OK" and you'll be able to see the tire pressure levels for each tire.
  4. If you notice your tire pressure light is on, it's likely that you need to adjust your tire pressure to ensure the tire psi is correct.
  5. After you've ensured your tire pressure is correct, you'll want to go on a short drive for your tire pressures to display.

Why Optimize Your Tire Pressure?

Even if you're not doing a lot of driving around Valley Automall, your Mercedes-Benz GLA 250 tire psi could still be incorrect. Over time, tires lose air pressure naturally so it's important you're regularly checking your tire pressure. If your tire pressure is incorrect, you could experience the following:

  • Decreased traction
  • Uneven tire wear
  • Excessive tire wear
  • Regular tire blowouts
  • Constantly needing new tires
  • Reduced fuel efficiency

What If There’s a Mercedes-Benz Tire Malfunction on the TPMS?

If your TPMS system has a malfunction and isn’t reading correctly, how do you check the tire pressure levels? Here’s how to check your Mercedes-Benz tire pressure levels manually:

  1. First, make sure you have a tire pressure gauge. You can find one from our parts store online or by making the drive to our dealership from Valley Automall.
  2. Go to the tire or tires with low air pressure and locate the tire air cap.
  3. Unscrew the top of the tire air cap, and put the round end of the tire pressure gauge on the top of the exposed tire air cap.
  4. Push on the open tire cap with the round end of the tire pressure gauge until the white end of the tire pressure gauge extends and stops.
  5. You’ll see the white end stop at a certain number. This number is the amount of air pressure in your tires.
