The Mercedes-Benz SLK roadsters get a makeover in the form of the 2017 Mercedes-Benz SLC. While a majority of the changes are fairly subtle, the SLC features new powertrains, AMG® handling technology, refined exterior styling, and contemporary interior technology. When you think roadster, you think silky-smooth handling wrapped in an athletic yet suave package – and that’s just what you get with the new SLC. The SLK’s standard 9-speed automatic transmission will receive the G-TRONIC® treatment, giving it higher marks in the fuel-efficiency and handling departments. The AMG® SLC 43 not only offers a lighter take on the figure of the SLK convertible, it also provides rugged and ready suspension for the many twists and turns ahead. What’s more, drivers can tack on a mechanical limited-slip differential and/or an AMG® Ride Control Package for adaptive adjustable suspension systems.
Exteriorly, the 2017 Mercedes-Benz SLC backs up its performance and handling abilities with various subtle yet consequential changes. Behind the wheel of the SLC, Henderson and Las Vegas drivers can unfold or retract the hardtop with ease, even while traveling at speeds of up to 25 mph. The diamond-mesh design of the grille adds to the boldness of the newly retooled front-end, which has been lowered and lengthened for improved airflow under the hood. The redesigned headlights include an LED option, while the slimmed taillights blend seamlessly into the SLC’s sleekly contoured body structure.
While still retaining the energetic spirit of the SLK’s interior, the new SLC 300 and AMG® SLC 43 feature a host of upgrades Henderson and Las Vegas are sure to appreciate. For one, the 5.8-inch in-dash display found in the SLK’s dash was replaced with a 7-inch high-resolution screen for seamless access to a variety of cockpit and cabin controls. A panoramic glass roof with a variety of opacity settings, and AIRSCARF® – a ventilation system that supplies warm air to the driver’s neck, are expected to make an appearance. Meanwhile, available ambient lighting, leather upholstery, and a harman/kardon®Ò Logic 7®Ò* sound system will keep you comfortable and entertained throughout any journey.
