The All-New 2017 GLS is Making its Way to Mercedes-Benz of Henderson Near Las Vegas

With its spring release on the horizon, Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts in Henderson and Las Vegas should keep an eye out for the new 2017 GLS. Replacing the GL family, this luxurious yet rugged SUV will sport a refreshed design and techy features for the new model year. The all-new GLS will make a stunning addition to our new SUV lineup here at Mercedes-Benz of Henderson, and we’re looking forward to showing it to you!

Four High-Powered Turbo Engines

Featuring a hydrodynamic torque converter, the famed 9G-TRONIC^® automatic transmission will come standard on each of the three non-AMG^® GLS models. For the 2017 model year, AIRMATIC^® air suspension returns with ABS damping for a smooth drive, according to the DYNAMIC SELECT^® drive mode, be it Comfort or Sport. An upscale SUV with plenty of power to its name, the forthcoming 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS lineup will boast four advanced engines:

• 3.0L turbo-diesel V-6 engine rated at 255 hp and 457 lb-ft of torque
• 3.0L twin-turbo V-6 engine rated at 362 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque
• 4.7L twin-turbo V-8 engine rated at 449 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque
• 5.5L AMG^® twin-turbo V-8 engine rated at 577 hp and 561 lb-ft of torque

Key Interior Features

The interior of the new GLS will include a passenger volume of 148 cubic feet – enough to comfortably seat up to seven adults. Flexible and easy to configure, the center seat row offers a cargo position for even greater cargo space. In the cockpit, Henderson and Las Vegas drivers will be pleased to find an 8-inch COMAND^® display, which comes paired with a console-mounted touchpad controller for hassle-free use. The new 3-spoke multi-function steering-wheel initiates Bluetooth^®* and audio functions with the touch of a button, while the Mercedes-Benz mbrace^® Connect Package includes automatic emergency call, roadside assistance, accident recovery, and more.

Up-to-the-Minute Safety Technologies

In the safety and security department, the 2017 GLS will showcase the stringent standards Mercedes-Benz has for its protective technologies. Standard Electronic Stability Program and 4ETS^® work in unison to improve traction and reduce wheel-slip, while Brake Assist applies the ideal amount of brake force in emergency situations. Using radar-based technology, COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST PLUS^® keeps a lookout for impending accidents, while PRESAFE^® preps the cabin at the first sign of an unavoidable collision. The available Driver Assistance Package tacks on even more safety tech, including:
