About Mercedes-Benz Brakes

One of any given Mercedes-Benz vehicle’s winning characteristics is responsive, driver-focused handling. Like the suspension, transmission, and drive-mode selector, the brakes play an integral role. Mercedes-Benz brake systems offer several advantages, such as:

  • Better performance when slowing and stopping, with reduced wear from deceleration to ensure consistency and durability over the brake system’s operative lifetime
  • Quicker, more even heat transference to improve performance and minimize material deterioration
  • Constant improvements and advanced technology based on scientific research and intense testing
  • Premium comfort with no pedal pulsing or squeaking

When Do My Brakes Need Serviced?

Your brake system, like all components of your vehicle, needs to be inspected regularly. When you bring your car in for Mercedes-Benz repair, you’ll need to get your brake fluid, brake pads, and brake rotors checked, along with other fluids and parts.

If your brakes have a serious problem, you’ll need to bring your Mercedes-Benz to our professionals for brake system repair, refurbishment, or replacement. Watch for the following, and bring your vehicle to our Enterprise-area dealership and repair center if you experience:

  • Warning Light: A brake warning light is the first sign that your brakes need attention. Check in your vehicle’s manual to see which light signifies a problem with your brake system.
  • Odd Noises: Sounds coming from your brakes, such as squealing or screeching, rubbing or grinding, mean that the components of your brake system are rubbing against each other, and may need to be replaced.
  • Vibrating: If your steering wheel is pulsing or vibrating, your brake rotors are most likely rubbing against something metal, and both systems will need to be repaired. Bring your vehicle in for service immediately before your car suffers more damage.
  • Strange Smells: A “burning rubber” smell coming from the tires always indicates a serious problem. While it’s not always the brake system that’s malfunctioning, you will need to take your vehicle in for inspection and service, no matter which system the smell is emanating from.
  • Worn Brake Pads: If you need to press down further than usual to get your car to brake or slow down, it means that your brake pads have started to undergo dangerous amounts of wear and tear. Get your brake pads replaced at the first opportunity.
