EQS Brake Service

Service Tech

When you head home to Enterprise or Green Valley in a new EQS, you can look forward to simple and straightforward maintenance. There are several ways that your new electric sedan’s mechanics are different from gas vehicles, but the brake system isn’t included on that list. You’ll find EQS brake service to be very familiar, with 10,000-mile inspections and 20,000-mile fluid changes. When to Schedule EQS Brake Service

In order to keep yourself and other drivers safe on the Boulder City roads, it’s critical that you never miss an EQS brake service appointment. How often should you schedule this service?

  • Brake inspection is required every 10,000 miles
  • Brake inspection + brake fluid exchange is required every 20,000 miles

What is Included in EV Brake Maintenance?

EV brake maintenance is similar to brake maintenance for gas-powered vehicles. When you come in for EQS brake service every 10,000 miles, the inspection includes:

  • Check brake pads and rotors – The brake pads and rotors are the fastest-wearing components of the brake system, so it’s important to check them regularly. Your technician will let you know when a brake pad and rotor replacement is recommended.
  • Flush and exchange brake fluid – As we noted, the brake fluid exchange is performed every 20,000 miles rather than every 10,000 miles. However, the fluid level and overall quality will be inspected every 10,000 miles.
  • Bleed brake lines when needed – Occasionally, a brake inspection will indicate that the brake lines should be bled. Typically only performed every two or three years, bleeding the brake lines allows any air trapped in the lines to escape.

How to Help Your Brakes Last Longer

Follow these helpful tips during your Valley Automall travels to help maintain your brakes:

  • Always slow down gradually. Slamming on the brakes at the last minute is one of the top causes of premature wear.
  • Lighten your load — carry as little cargo as necessary during trips to Las Vegas. Less weight on your vehicle makes it easier to stop.
  • Don’t skip EV brake maintenance! Regular inspections will help catch any minor issues before they become hazardous.
  • Always have your brake fluid replaced on time. Brake fluid retains water, which can lead to reduced effectiveness and even corrosion if left to sit.
