Currently, AMG is the only automaker in the industry that builds each of its engines by hand. Performance 4MATIC^® all-wheel drive is an AMG exclusive, and was adapted from Mercedes-Benz 4MATIC^® technology for race-inspired performance. This system is comprised of rigid yet lightweight components, and intelligently distributes torque between the front and rear wheels. Performance 4MATIC^® gives the already dexterous AMG lineup the gumption to travel city streets, highways, and backroads.

Performance 4MATIC^® uses two crucial systems: 3-Stage Electronic Stability Program (ESP^®) with a Sport Mode and 4-Wheel Electronic Traction System (4ETS^®). ESP^® features three modes: ESP^® ON, ESP^® SPORT HANDLING MODE, and ESP^® OFF. As you sail down Orange County’s winding highways, ESP^® promotes stability by braking a wheel’s as needed, giving you leeway here and there in Sport Mode.
