Luxury auto brand Mercedes-Benz creates several different types of vehicles for the worldwide market, all of which are impressive in their own right. Sometimes, however, a vehicle fares better in some auto markets than others. Take the Mercedes-Benz R-Class, for example. Mercedes-Benz has announced this vehicle will not be returning to the U.S. for the 2013 model year, though it's still rather popular in other places.
The Mercedes-Benz R-Class is a crossover SUV that can accommodate up to six or seven passengers and resembles the shape of the Mercedes-Benz ML-Class and Mercedes-Benz GL-Class SUVS but has a more wagon-like style. In fact, the fastback wagon was constructed to be a lower, sleeker version of the Mercedes-Benz sedans and coupes that are built at the luxury brand's U.S. assembly plant in Alabama. The Mercedes-Benz R-Class has a MSRP of $53,840 for the diesel variant and $52,840 for the standard gasoline variants, and it's known for its array of options and wide variety of current technologies.
Though the vehicle will continue to be built here in the U.S., you'll have to look outside of the country to find it for the 2013 onward. Sales of the model will continue until around 2015 in countries such as China and Canada.
