Did you know that TV's most resourceful action hero (from the late '80s to early '90s), MacGyver, has been seen driving a new Mercedes-Benz Citan minivan? It's true. Though it's been many years since Richard Dean Anderson, the actor who played MacGyver, has played out his action hero role, he's getting a chance to reprise it in a new advertising campaign from Mercedes-Benz. Three spots have already been created and will debut online September 18, 2012.

You may wonder why an action hero would be driving a minivan, but both MacGyver and the Mercedes-Benz Citan are crafty and resourceful! The new Mercedes-Benz Citan will show off all of its impressive properties when it makes its IAA International Commercial Vehicle Show debut soon. The van will be available in several different variants: a panel van (which looks a lot like the Ford Transit Connect), a Mixto (seating for five and tons of cargo room), and a rather large Crewbus style with at least three rows of seating.

The Citan is the first Mercedes-Benz vehicle to be produced from the luxury brand's partnership with Renault-Nissan. The Mercedes-Benz Citan is based on the very popular Renault Kangoo, which the Mercedes-Benz Citan will share an assembly line with in Maubeuge, France.
